Qigong, pronounced “chi gong,” was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of Classical Chinese medicine. It involves using exercises, visualization, breathwork, meditation, movement and stillness to optimize Energy within the Mind, Body and Soul, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being, while achieving full realization of being. Come study & practice Qigong together and experience the Power of group practice.
We'll cover the basics, and do an overview of the foundational building blocks of Qigong Theory/Philosophy, from various supporting texts, like:
-225-Hour Qigong Certification Text, from the Qigong and Daoist Training Center.
-Traditional Chinese Medicine
-Various other texts and essays on Daoist Philosophy and Psychology
We'll be following our studies up by learning a variety of techniques, including: quick and easy warm-up and cool-down routines, techniques to "wake up or relax" the Qi in the body for easy morning and evening Qigong routines, intro to Qigong moving and static meditations, self-massage and tapping, targeted sequences like 5-Element practice, and many others.
Learn the well observed and researched benefits of Qigong in terms of long-term preventive care, how to boost and revitalize your immunity reserves, as well as how to support and assist your Healing process for already existing conditions by cultivating your Life Force/Vitality, or Qi, with a practice that is accessible for almost anyone at any age.
Drop-ins and all skill levels are welcome. It is always a gift to share, study and practice Qigong with others.
No previous experience is necessary, come with a willingness to learn, comfortable clothing and shoes and an open Heart-Mind :~)
